On September 1, 2023, prior to the coming of the 8^th “China Charity Day", “China Charity Forum 2023” and “China Charity Evening Party 2023”, which were jointly organized by China Charity Federation, Jiangsu Charity Federation and Nantong Municipal People’s Government were held in Nantong city, Jiangsu province. Gong Puguang, who is Vice Chairman of the 13^th NPC Social Construction Committee and President of  China Charity Federation, Fang Wei, vice governor of Jiangsu province, Li Hongta, a prize winner of the “July 1 Medal” and former vice president of China Charity Federation, Sun Shaohua, vice president of China Charity Federation, Li Xiaomin, former executive vice chairman and deputy secretary of the CPC Group of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee and president of Jiangsu Charity Federation, Zhang Tong, Deputy Secretary of Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Huang Weidong, Chairman of Nantong Municipal Political Consultative Conference and president of Nantong Municipal Charity Federation and others attended the forum. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Sun Da, member of the 14^th CPPCC National Committee and Secretary of the CPC Committee of China Charity Federation.

With the theme of “Chinese path to modernization and high-quality development of charity with Chinese characteristics”, the forum was attended by representatives, experts and scholars from all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, cities specifically designated in the state plan and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Charity Federation. It focused on the theoretical research and work achievements in the field of national charity and deeply discussed the mission and responsibility of charity with Chinese characteristics in the construction of Chinese path to modernization, a comprehensive and systematic exchange of methods and methods of charity practice in the new era has added new impetus, provided new experience, and played a new role in promoting the high-quality development of charity with Chinese characteristics.

It was reported that 66,476 people from charitable federation and social organizations nationwide as well as over 500 member units of China Charity Federation, listened to and watched the live broadcast of the forum online.

During the forum, participants also visited Nantong Museum, China Charity Museum, Nantong Wushan and ecological restoration and protection zone along the Yangtze River together.
