On Mar. 21, 2023, the shipping ceremony for materials donated by China Charity Federation to the disaster-stricken areas in Syria is held at Shanghai Yangshan Port. H.E Mr. Mhd Hasanein Khaddam, the ambassador of Syria in China, made a special trip to the site to preside over the ceremony and deliver a speech. Liu Wei, vice president of China Charity Federation, Ren Xinzhao, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility of ANTA Sports Products Limited, Wang Fan, Brand Director of Zhongshun Jierou Paper Co., Ltd. and Zhu Mengze, Eastern China Regional Human Resources Manager of Fujian Hengan Group Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Ambassador Hasanein expressed his appreciation to every Chinese charitable organization, caring enterprise and caring person who extended a helping hand to the people in the disaster-stricken areas of Syria. "Time has proved that Syria and China are good friends who share weal and woe and the two countries have always maintained the closest ties," he said. The Syrian people will always remember the selfless acts of the Chinese Government and people. The friendship between Syria and China has withstood the test of time and difficulties, the future path will be full of hope and the friendship between the two countries and the people will be more solid. He said that with the support of China and other friendly countries, the Syrian people will definitely be able to overcome the disaster and rebuild their homeland at an early date.

Liu Wei said in his speech that as a national pivotal charity organization, China Charity Federation has always taken it as its mission to carry forward traditional Chinese virtues and practice humanitarian spirit and help people in need. When earthquakes occurred in Turkey and Syria, China Charity Federation immediately launched public fundraising campaign titled the 'Emergency Assistance to Turkish-Syrian Earthquake-stricken Areas' to raise funds and materials for emergency relief and post-disaster reconstruction in the disaster-stricken areas of the two countries. After the initiative was issued, it has received positive response and generous donations from many caring enterprises such as ANTA Group, Zhongshun Jierou, Hengan Group, Zhongqiao Sports, etc., and quickly raised relief materials worthy of more than 50 million yuan, which has interpreted the social responsibility of Chinese enterprises with love and responsibility, demonstrated the humanitarian spirit of Chinese enterprises and highlighted the charity charm of Chinese enterprises. He wished that this batch of materials would arrive in the disaster-stricken areas of Syria smoothly, help the people in the disaster-stricken areas rebuild their homes as soon as possible and wished the friendship between the Chinese and Syrian peoples last long.

At the ceremony, representatives from all walks of life in China and Ambassador Hasanein witnessed the smooth departure of 30 containers of charity materials. Ambassador Hasanein sent a letter of appreciation to all the representatives of the donation enterprises.

The shipment is expected to arrive in Syria early next month.
