On Jan.16, 2023, the donation ceremony for the fifth Hand-in-Hand Activity of China-Laos students themed “the Belt and Road· People-to-People Bonds” was held at the Laos Embassy in China, where China Charity Federation donated materials worthy of RMB 1.3 million Yuan to young students in Laos, including school supplies, clothing, sports shoes, bedding, etc. Kampo Ntavan, the Ambassador of Laos in China, Sun Da, secretary of the Party Committee of China Charity Federation and representatives of caring enterprises attended the donation ceremony.

    At the ceremony, Sun Da expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ambassador Campo Ntavan for her warm greeting speech and pleasant wishes. He said that in the past year, the 20^th National Congress of the CPC was successfully held which has mapped out a grand blueprint for China to comprehensively build a modern socialist country and promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization. At the same time, it has made it clear that promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind is one of the essential requirements of Chinese path to modernization, which points out the direction for international friendly cooperation, including China-Laos friendship. Under President Xi’s initiative of jointly building the “the Belt and Road”, China Charity Federation has launched a series of activities of “the Belt and Road · People to People Bonds” since 2018, warmly welcomed by the governments and people of countries along the “the Belt and Road”. China and Laos are linked by mountains and rivers and closely related and interdependent as lips and teeth. The two peoples have lived in harmony since ancient times. The traditional friendship has been weathered and strengthened over times and has become a model of mutual help and good-neighborly friendship. At the end of last year, the General Secretary of the Central Committee and the President of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Tong Lun paid a state visit to China and held cordial talks with the General Secretary Xi Jinping, laying a solid foundation for the development of China-Laos relations in the new era and the construction of a community of shared future for the two countries. This donation made by China Charity Federation is a concrete manifestation of the positive implementation of the spirit of the common understanding between the leaders of the two countries. Finally, he extened his best wishes to Ambassador Campo Ntavan and the staff of the embassy a happy Chinese New Year and hoped that the two parties to continue promoting cooperation and strengthening exchanges in the new year to keep eternal friendship.

    At last, a handover ceremony of donated materials was held where Ambassador Campo Ntavan presented certificates of acknowledgement to the China Charity Federation and related enterprises.
